Moena Café Opens First Utah Restaurant in Downtown Daybreak

Escape to the islands without leaving Utah!

Downtown Daybreak in South Jordan proudly opens its newest restaurant today, Moena Café, inspired by the spirit of aloha! This beloved Hawaiian eatery welcomes patrons bringing the vibrant flavors and warm hospitality of the islands to the heart of the southwest quadrant of Salt Lake Valley. Guests can expect to come hungry, leave happy, and fall in love with both the food and the wonderful people behind Moena Café.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Eric and Nicole Chang, Moena Café is the realization of their lifelong dream. With years of experience and a deep passion for food and culture, the Changs are committed to sharing authentic Hawaiian cuisine. Whether you are in the mood for a hearty loco moco, native-flavor pancakes, or fresh island-style seafood, Moena Café promises comfort and authenticity in every bite.

From the moment you sit down to your last bite, Nicole, president of Moena Cafe, promises a steadfast commitment to excellence.

“I believe that the success of any restaurant business is based on the satisfaction of my customers and the experience we provide,” she says.

Downtown Daybreak is part of a plan that originated over 20 years ago. Now it’s shifting into a new gear thanks to the collaboration between Larry H. Miller Real Estate and the City of South Jordan. Downtown Daybreak is connected by light rail, adjacent to the Mountain View Corridor and part of the award-winning master-planned community of Daybreak. This mixed-use development is positioned to respond to population growth patterns, make the best use of existing transportation assets, relieve traffic congestion and bring much-needed businesses and jobs — as well as a strong cultural heartbeat — to this part of the Wasatch Front.

“At Larry H. Miller Real Estate, our choices—how to develop, where to build, what to create—touch the lives of countless people,” said Brad Holmes, President of Larry H. Miller Real Estate. “It’s more than a job; it’s a responsibility: to be stewards of the communities where we work and leave a legacy that reflects our values.”

The first phase of the 200-acre Downtown Daybreak includes Utah’s first-of-its-kind sports and entertainment district, America First Square. This area features The Ballpark at America First Square, home of the Salt Lake Bees, as well as a Megaplex cinema entertainment center with a movie theater, interactive bowling, games, and enhanced food and beverage options. Additionally, there is an outdoor performance venue offering live concerts and performances throughout the summer.

In addition to Moena Café, the first phase of Downtown Daybreak emphasizes the importance of small, local businesses. Several more businesses are slated to open soon during Downtown Daybreak’s Season of Openings, including Hires Big H, Nomad Eatery, Rockwell Ice Cream Company, Naraya by Sawadee Thai and Jolley’s Corner.

Moena Café is located at 11098 S. Grandville Avenue, South Jordan, UT 84009. Learn more at moenacafe.com.
