SOUTH JORDAN, UT (December 4, 2025) — The Light the World Giving Machines are officially open in Downtown Daybreak in South Jordan, Utah, marking the first time the global charitable initiative has come to the south end of the Salt Lake Valley.
At an event held on December 4, representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, the City of South Jordan and local community leaders gathered to celebrate the launch and to kick off the giving season.
The evening began with contributions from the Miller family, who purchased one of every item available in the machines. Their gift supported meals for families, warm clothing, educational resources, shelter support, toys, and more.
“This is a special time of year, especially in the giving community,” said Don Stirling, executive director of the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation. “We are delighted to contribute to the Light the World Campaign and the Giving Machines. We hope to encourage our friends and neighbors to share their light, love and resources with others.”
Located near the ice rink in Downtown Daybreak, the Giving Machines join thousands more across 21 countries, 126 cities and six continents, offering simple, meaningful ways for individuals and families to support global and local nonprofits.
The Downtown Daybreak Giving Machines will remain open throughout the holiday season, inviting the community to participate in acts of service that uplift families around the world. The machines will close January 3, 2025.
