Important News for LHM Group Employees

In our capacity as corporate leaders and because we do business in multiple states, we feel a responsibility to you, our employees, and to our customers, and want to minimize the risk of potential exposure associated with COVID-19 (“the Coronavirus”). Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. In the coming days, we will strive to operate effectively and ensure that all of our essential services are continuously provided. Therefore, we are sharing the following recommendations and guidelines:

Travel
Currently, and until further notice, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies is recommending that employees suspend all non-essential business trips and, in the case of essential business, weigh the risk of potential exposure to the Coronavirus virus against the necessity of the business travel. Where possible, use technology as a suitable alternative.

If you choose to travel outside the United States for personal reasons, please abide by all U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and U.S. Department of State (DOS) advisories, alerts, and guidance. If you travel to a country identified by (1) the CDC as a Risk Assessment Level 2 or higher as listed on the CDC website (CDC List), or (2) the DOS as Travel Advisory Level 2 or higher as identified by the DOS on its website (DOS List), or (3) you travel to a country where the risk level increases while you are traveling, you will be required to:

  • Provide your onsite People & Culture/HR representative with proof of the date you re-entered the United States;
  • Remain out of the workplace for a period of 14 calendar days after re-entry into the United States; and
  • If exhibiting any of the primary symptoms of the Coronavirus, including fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, or cough, remain out of the workplace until you no longer have symptoms.

During the 14-calendar-day self-quarantine period, and for any period during which you experience Coronavirus or flu-like symptoms, you may only work from home if your position is a work-from-home position or if specifically authorized by your manager. Otherwise, you should use any available PTO, vacation or sick leave.

If you elect to travel to a country with a lower risk assessment or travel advisory level, or travel domestically to an “affected area,” or you believe you have come in contact with an affected person or a person who has recently traveled, you should conduct a self-risk assessment of potential Coronavirus exposure, and engage in self-observation to remain alert to any of the primary symptoms of the Coronavirus as outlined on the CDC website (CDC self-observation). You may immediately return to the workplace but should continue self-observation for at least 14 days. If you become symptomatic, immediately leave the workplace and seek appropriate medical assistance.

Symptomatic Employees are Required to Stay Home
If you exhibit any of the primary Coronavirus symptoms, including but not limited to: fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, cough or flu-like symptoms, you are required to stay out of the workplace until you are symptom-free (at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines). Please immediately notify your manager and/or onsite People & Culture/HR representative if you exhibit any of these symptoms.

If you exhibit any of these primary Coronavirus symptoms in the workplace, you will be sent home immediately. Any risk assessment of your condition will not be based on race or country of origin, and the company will make reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of employees with confirmed Coronavirus.

Personal and Facility Hygiene
Please exercise the following preventative measures to protect against the spread of viruses and bacteria:

  • Frequently wash your hands thoroughly with soapy water for at least 20 seconds, especially after traveling on public transportation, before and after eating, and when using the restroom, etc.
  • Avoid sharing anything that has come in contact with saliva, whether in your living or social environments.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow or a tissue, not your hand.
  • Get adequate sleep and eat well-balanced meals to ensure a healthy immune system.
  • Arrange with your manager to work from home or take sick leave as appropriate if you have symptoms.

While we want to extend courtesy and respect to our guests and fellow employees, be considerate by avoiding unnecessary personal contact such as shaking hands, etc.

We ask all of our locations to ensure a clean workplace, including the regular cleaning of objects, horizontal surfaces and areas that are frequently used, such as bathrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, door handles, railings, light switches, etc.

Managers: Please review these guidelines with all employees and ensure your cleaning teams at each of your locations are meeting this request.
