Larry H. Miller Group employees honor founder’s birthday with day of service

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – Employees from across the Larry H. Miller Group of companies honored its founder Thursday.

More than 2,300 employees volunteered across seven states for the ninth annual Day of Service.

Their service honors Larry H. Miller on his birthday. Larry was passionate about serving others and encouraged his employees to do the same.

Gail Miller, the company’s owner and chairman of the board, has continued to inspire employees to make the communities where they work better because they are here.

“We think by doing service in the community, we’re enriching lives as well as the lives of our employees because they get to see the fruits of their labor and they get to do the things that represent the values that we were built on and one of those is service,” said Miller.

Since 2010, more than 9,700 employees have donated nearly 40,000 hours to 192 organizations in seven states.

A group of LHM employees in Utah volunteer at Camp Kostopulos. Some of the projects included spring cleanup, weeding and mulching flowerbeds and trails, staining rail fence around camp, spreading wood chips at the ropes course, trimming trees, and equestrian center cleanup. They also donated all supplies needed for the project.
