Sarah Starkey

Chief Legal and Administrative Officer | Executive Director Miller Family Services

Sarah is the Chief Legal Officer for the Larry H. Miller Company and the portfolio companies at large. She also serves as the Executive Director for Miller Family Services and as secretary to the LHM Company’s Board of Directors.

Sarah joined the Larry H. Miller Company in 2010 as a staff attorney and has helped shape the organization through a range of legal, governance and executive leadership roles. Prior to her current positions, she served as general counsel for Larry H. Miller Dealerships. In 2020, she also served as interim chief human resources officer, helping lead the organization through the global pandemic while providing strategic leadership across people and culture, human resources, human capital management and employee benefits strategy.

Today, Sarah provides a broad range of legal counsel and strategic business insight to the Larry H. Miller Company and its platforms and businesses. Her work includes corporate structure, board governance, mergers and acquisitions, state and federal compliance across multiple sectors, contract negotiation and management, litigation strategy and risk management.

Sarah is known for her leadership in the legal profession and in the community. In 2018, Utah Governor Gary Herbert appointed her to the 3rd District Judicial Nominating Committee. She served on the Utah State Bar Commission and is a past president of Women Lawyers of Utah. Sarah also held board and leadership roles with The Road Home, Girl Scouts of Utah, and the University of Utah College of Social and Behavioral Science.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Sarah moved to Salt Lake City in 2002. She earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology, with a certificate in criminology and corrections, from the University of Utah and a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
