SALT LAKE CITY – Throwbacks, fireworks, giveaways and theme nights highlight the 2016 promotional schedule announced today by the Salt Lake Bees. The schedule features 10 fireworks games and 10 giveaways during the 72-game Pacific Coast League regular season schedule. The Bees will also host over a dozen theme nights ranging from superheroes and Star Wars to the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Angels.
The 10 postgame fireworks dates for the 2016 season are April 9, May 7, May 28, June 18, July 1, July 2, July 22, July 23, Aug. 13 and Sept. 2. For the first time in franchise history the Bees will host a fireworks show at Smith’s Ballpark without a baseball game on July 4. Details for “Fourth on the Field” event will be announced at a later date.
The Bees will wear alternate jerseys seven times for the biggest theme nights of the year starting with Salt Lake Gulls Throwback Night (April 29) followed by Pack the Park Pink (May 7), Military Appreciation Night (May 28), Utah Jazz Night (July 8), Star Wars Night (July 22), Los Angeles Angels Night (Aug. 6) and Salt Lake Buzz Throwback Night (Aug. 19). Giveaways this season include texting gloves (April 23), superhero capes (May 27), neck ties (June 17) and a David Ortiz Salt Lake Buzz bobblehead (Aug. 19).
This year’s season-long promotions are great for fans looking to get the most out of their budget. Monday nights are Smith’s Family Nights where fans can purchase four tickets and four hot dogs for $20 at local Smith’s Food and Drug stores; Wednesday nights are Cyprus Credit Union $1 hot dog night; drinks are $2.75 on Thirsty Thursday and kids 12-and-under can run the bases following all 25 of the Bees Friday and Saturday night games with the SNAP Postgame Kid’s Run.
