Business Units Reorganized as Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment

The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies announced today the reorganization and return of its sports and retail business units under the moniker of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. Former Miller Sports Properties will now be joined by Megaplex Theatres, Fanzz Sports Stores and Saxton Horne Communications. Miller Sports Properties has been comprised of the NBA Utah Jazz; MiLB Triple-A Salt Lake Bees; Miller Performance, consisting of Miller Motorsports Park and the Ford Performance Racing School; EnergySolutions Arena; KJZZ 14 Television; The Zone Sports Network (97.5 FM, 1280 AM); Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah professional cycling race; and All-Star Catering. “The return to our sports and entertainment structure reflects our desire to be leaders in this industry,” said Steve Starks, president of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. “Our intent is to field high-quality teams, attract special events, and provide great entertainment experiences that enhance our quality of life and contribute to the economic vitality of the region.” The sports properties are merging with Megaplex Theatres, which operates 18 locations across Utah and southern Nevada with a total of 193 screens; Fanzz Sports Stores, one of the largest providers of sports apparel and merchandise in the United States with 121 store locations in 22 states and a growing online presence; and Saxton Horne, a full-service advertising and marketing agency operating in Salt Lake City for more than 19 years. Additionally, Starks announced the appointments of John Larson as Chief Financial Officer and Craig Sanders as Chief Marketing Officer for Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. Larson is in his 24th year with the LHM Group of Companies, serving as Group Controller and, later, Vice President of Finance for the sports and retail properties. In 2009, Larson took over as General Manager of Miller Performance. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting. Sanders has been senior vice president for Miller Sport Properties, overseeing marketing planning and support, brand development, research, and game operations, with an emphasis on enhancing the fan experience. He earned his bachelor of commerce and a master of science degrees in South Africa and Scotland. Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment will be managed under Starks in seven operational teams by Chief Operating Officer Jim Olson, Chief Revenue Officer Don Stirling, Utah Jazz President Randy Rigby, Fanzz General Manager Darren Squires, Megaplex President Blake Anderson, Chief Financial Officer Larson, and Chief Marketing Officer Sanders.
