Digitally Remastered “The Work and the Glory” Movie Returning for a Special Engagement to Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The 2004 historical drama, The Work and the Glory, is returning to Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres locations in Utah and Nevada starting this week.  The film, based on the first novel of Gerald N. Lund’s popular book series, tells the story of the fictional Steed family in the early 1800s and their struggles surrounding the early days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“We’re thrilled to offer this newly digitally remastered film on the big screen to a new generation of local movie fans,” said Blake Andersen, Megaplex Theatres president.   “Every part of this movie, from the original story, to the cast and crew, have strong ties to this community.”

Megaplex Theatres founders, Larry H. and Gail Miller, were instrumental in bringing the novel to the big screen.  Larry financed much of the project and is listed as an executive producer in the credits.  Gail traveled to film locations in Tennessee to monitor progress on the production and accompany grandson, Zane, who appears in two of the films in the Work and the Glory trilogy.

The film is based on the book series by best-selling author, Gerald N. Lund, who served as a general authority and member of the church’s Second Quorum of the Seventy from 2002 to 2008.

Megaplex Theatres is digitally remastering the other two films in the Work and the Glory series with plans to rerelease those films in the weeks ahead.
