Employees of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Participate in Larry H. Miller Week of Service

SANDY, UT (April 22, 2021) – During the week of April 26-30, nearly 1,200 employees of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies in nine western states will volunteer in their communities during the Larry H. Miller Week of Service, an annual event that honors the late Larry H. Miller on his birthday.

Larry H. Miller, who passed away in 2009, strongly supported giving back in the communities where he did business and lived by the philosophy to “Go about doing good until there’s too much good in the world.”

“I feel that it is very important to support the communities where we live, thrive and conduct business, especially as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic together,” said Gail Miller, owner and chair of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM Group). “Our Week of Service enables us to share meaningful experiences with our fellow associates and lift our neighbors and communities across the western U.S.”

In the Salt Lake valley, nearly 600 employees will volunteer at 34 service events at 25 locations Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – noon, assisting with tasks such as planting trees, trail maintenance, park clean up, and landscaping. In other areas of Utah, an additional 200 employees will volunteer at various locations.

The Week of Service honors the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies’ focus on its values of stewardship and service. The event is usually held on April 26 but was expanded to a Week of Service this year to allow more volunteers to participate while following COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Service projects in Salt Lake County include: Tree Utah, Liberty Park, Camp Kostopulos, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, Utah Diaper Bank, Utah Refuge Connection, Murray Park, Hogle Zoo, Sandy City Dog Park, Peoples Freeway Park, Warm Springs Park, The Children’s Center, Sandy Senior Center, Wheeler Historic Farm, and Tiny Tim’s Foundation for Kids.

In Utah County, employees will volunteer at Food and Care Coalition, Bridle Up Hope, United Way, Provo Parks, and Provo Boys and Girls Club.
