KJZZ TV to Broadcast 29 High School Football Games

SALT LAKE CITY – All six defending high school state football champions are featured in the KJZZ 14 television broadcast schedule released today in conjunction with the Utah High School Activities Association. A total of 29 high school football games will be shown statewide, beginning Aug. 20 and culminating with a tripleheader of state championship games on Nov. 20.

The America First Prep Showdown on KJZZ powered by WRE Biofuels features 34 different teams, including all six defending state champions with Bingham (5A), Timpview (4A), Dixie (3AA), Judge Memorial (3A), South Summit (2A) and Rich (1A). Games will be broadcast twice-a-week on Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., with the exception of a Wednesday, Oct. 14 air date.

After 20 regular season broadcasts, KJZZ will show nine playoff games, with a first-round game on Oct. 30, quarterfinal game on Nov. 6, doubleheader state semifinals on both Nov. 12-13, and the 3AA, 4A and 5A state championship tripleheader on Nov. 20 from Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

The veteran KJZZ broadcast team of Steve Brown, Alema Harrington and Tony Parks will announce the America First Prep Showdown. All games will be televised live in high definition on channel 14 and streamed live on KJZZ.com. A digital download of each game will also be available for purchase on the website.

KJZZ broadcasts on channel 14 over the air and for Dish and DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD).
