Larry H. Miller Dealerships Donates $12,000 to Fund Summer Programs

ALBUQUERQUE – Larry H. Miller Charities, the charitable arm of Larry H. Miller Dealershipswill make a total of $12,000 in donations to Loving Thunder Therapeutic Riding, Inc. and Crossroads for Women on Wednesday, June 24.

“Doing good in the community is a guiding principle for our group and we’re proud to support two organizations that provide such beneficial programs,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice president of operations for Larry H. Miller Dealerships.

Loving Thunder will receive a $5,000 grant, which will provide 111 individual lessons, allowing 18 children to participate in a complete six-week therapeutic riding session. Crossroads for Women will utilize their $7,000 donation to help implement a summer program, which will run for six weeks and host approximately 15 women and 30 children.

“This program gives children, who have been homeless or transitioned in and out of relatives homes or state custody, the opportunity to bond with their mothers who also participate in the program,” said Patty Pesantez, LMSW, family specialist of Crossroads for Women. ‘In addition, it will enable them the opportunity to form new relationships with other children who have faced similar life experiences.”

Throughout the year, funding for Larry H. Miller Charities comes in large part from employee contributions. Additional funds are allocated from various LHM Group companies and public donations, and together, the money is dispersed through a grant program primarily focused on charities that serve women and children, with an emphasis on health and education.
