TUCSON, Ariz. (November 1, 2016) – Larry H. Miller Dealerships presented an $8,000 donation to the Tucson Police Officer’s Association Charitable Foundation (TPOA) in front of a crowd of 46,760 football fans during a timeout of Saturday’s University of Arizona homecoming game at Arizona Stadium. The donation will allow 80 underprivileged children in Tucson to shop with a cop as part of the “Kids and Cops Christmas” program this holiday season.

“Kids and Cops Christmas,” scheduled for December 10, allows children from low-income families to shop with a police officer. The goal of the program is to give children an opportunity to spend positive, personal time with an officer, while allowing them to receive much-needed items for the winter and holidays. Oftentimes, children participating in the program shop for clothing, jackets and other necessary personal items, in addition to toys.

“Supporting children in our community is a central tenet of Larry H. Miller Dealerships. We’re proud to contribute to this program, fill a need in the community and spread a little holiday cheer,” said Brianna Petty, subcommittee chair, Larry H. Miller Charities.

During the game, representatives from Larry H. Miller Dealerships were called on the field to present a large, oversized check to members of the Tucson Police Officer’s Association Charitable Foundation. Detective Kristopher Goins, Officer Ysela Welding and Officer Adam Shoun accepted the donation on behalf of TPOA.

Larry H. Miller Charities is a nonprofit organization that functions as the charitable arm of Larry H. Miller Dealerships. With 13 dealerships in Arizona, the company is one of the largest dealership groups in the state.
