Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Wins Four Awards in 2014 Best of State Competition

It was announced today that the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies received four Best of State awards in this year’s program for the following categories: corporate wellness, individual humanitarian, advertising agencies and sporting event. Best of State recognizes outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah who have achieved excellence in their field of endeavor, developed or applied innovative approaches that have differentiated them in their field, and contributed to a better quality of life in Utah.

The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM Group) won in the business services – corporate wellness category for its leading health and wellness program Fit for the Future, which has seen great increases in employee and spouse participation over the years, reductions in employee health risk factors, and has kept insurance rates for employees steady for three years running. Gail Miller, owner of the LHM Group, will be honored as individual humanitarian in the community development – private sector category for her unwavering commitment to giving back and to contributing to the quality of life in Utah through community service, charitable contributions, and a focus on education.

Saxton Horne Communications won in the business services – advertising agencies category for its work including creating new brand messaging and creative for the Salt Lake Bees; managing social media and increasing participation in online reviews for Larry H. Miller Dealerships (52 stores); and increasing social media followers and online engagement for Japanese candy Hi-Chew. The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, a Union Cyclist Internationale-sanctioned 2.1 level stage race, won in the sports & recreation – sporting event category for representing and showcasing Utah on an international level, as well as increases in the amount of spectators year over year, international television viewership and a multi-million dollar economic impact to the state of Utah.

The Best of State winners will receive a medallion, and will have a chance to win one of 10 Best of State Statues if they are determined to be the most outstanding in their division. The awards will be presented on Wednesday, June 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Salt Palace Convention Center Ballroom.
