Larry H. Miller Management Corporation Announces Promotions

Clark Whitworth, president of Larry H. Miller (LHM) Management Corporation announced the promotions of Michael Wankier to executive vice president of finance and David Smith to executive vice president of operations and mergers & acquisitions for LHM Management Corporation.

“Both Michael and David will play integral roles in moving the Larry H. Wankier will be responsible for financial reporting specific to compliance, supervision of payroll processing, internal and external audit completion, treasury management and group financing. He will also be responsible for reporting to ownership as well as banks and other stakeholders.

Smith will ensure group financial resources are allocated appropriately to areas that create the most value for the shareholders in addition to overseeing all merger and acquisition activities for the group.

Wankier joined LHM Management Corporation in July 2012 as director of financial reporting. Prior to joining the group, Wankier served as corporate controller for Devcon Security, group controller for Pinnacle Security and audit senior manager for Arthur Andersen/KPMG LLP. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. Wankier is a certified public accountant.

Smith began with LHM Management Corporation in September 2013 as director of mergers and acquisitions. Prior to the LHM Group, Smith served as head of mergers and acquisitions at Leucadia National Corporation in Salt Lake City, director of business development at Koch Industries in Wichita, Kan., and at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Mich. as purchasing manager and as a lead in Ford’s divestiture group. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in political science and minor in economics from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University.
