Following Giving Tuesday and heading into a season with heightened need, Advanced Health Care of Nashville has partnered with two local organizations committed to supporting families and individuals facing food insecurity: St. Luke’s Community House and The Store.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for food assistance has increased by 40% in Tennessee. While food insecurity affects people of all ages and backgrounds, seniors are especially vulnerable. Limited incomes, isolation, and mobility challenges all contribute to this growing concern, particularly as the cost of living continues to rise.
“At Advanced Health Care of Nashville, we’re proud to serve patients of all ages, but our hearts are especially close to seniors, who too often face food insecurity alone,” said Connor McChurch, Administrator of Advanced Health Care of Nashville. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to support organizations like St. Luke’s and The Store, which help make sure that none of our neighbors go hungry.”
The donation comes at a critical time. As Nashville enters the winter months and the holiday season, strain on food banks and nonprofit organizations intensifies. Seasonal costs like heating and holiday expenses can leave households, especially those on fixed incomes, with difficult choices between food, medicine, and utilities.
St. Luke’s Community House, which has served the West Nashville community for more than a century, provides food boxes, meals, and wraparound support services for families, seniors, and individuals. The Store, co-founded by country artist Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, offers a dignified free grocery store experience for those facing temporary crises.
“We are so abundantly grateful for the support of Advanced Healthcare of Nashville,” said Brittney Brown, director of mission advancement at The Store. “This generous gift of $5,000 is providing 2,941 meals to our hungry neighbors in Middle Tennessee. It means everything to have amazing companies like Advanced Healthcare walk alongside our mission in a time where food insecurity is at its darkest, partnerships like this beam a light of hope in our community.”
Advanced Health Care of Nashville’s contributions aim to help both organizations continue delivering essential services with compassion and dignity.
