Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship Awarded at Annual NAACP Luncheon

SALT LAKE CITY (January 18, 2016) – Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment, in conjunction with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), presented the Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship today. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day memorial luncheon was held at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake Bees Director of Broadcasting Steve Klauke joined Jeanetta Williams, president of the NAACP Salt Lake Branch, to present Aubrey Hodges with a $3,000 scholarship and an engraved silver bowl. Hodges, an 18 year-old senior from Murray High School, will attend either Dixie State University, University of Utah or Utah State University and major in marketing. This is the first time the Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship has been given to a high school student. Funding for the college scholarship was provided by Larry H. Miller Charities which focuses its contributions on nonprofit organizations and programs that benefit youth and women in the areas of health and education. The presentation by Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment and Larry H. Miller Charities continues a tradition set in motion by Larry H. Miller more than 20 years ago.
