SANDY – The search is on for Utah’s most enthusiastic Star Wars fans as Megaplex Theatres celebrates on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 to mark the 99 day countdown until the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Darth Vader, C3P0, R2D2, and many more Star Wars inspired costumed characters are invited to help transition the Megaplex marquee at Jordan Commons from 100 days to 99 days.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled to officially open at Megaplex Theatres on Friday, December 18, 2015. Megaplex plans to host special Star Wars Premiere Celebrations across multiple Utah locations with Reserved Seating tickets going on sale sometime in the next several weeks.
Special guests at the Megaplex Countdown Celebration include representatives from the various Utah Star Wars fan clubs, including the Alpine Garrison of the 501st Legion, Mandalorian Mercs’ Krayt Clan, R2 Builders, Rogue Base Rebel Legion, as well as Star Wars bloggers, award-winning fan filmmakers, Salt Lake Comic Con panelists, and more.
“Utah has a huge Star Wars fan base ready to enjoy the newest film in every Megaplex movie format available,” said Blake Andersen, president of Megaplex Theatres. “Our team is already working on the ultimate premiere event to ensure Megaplex guests have the best Star Wars experience possible.”
