Million Miles at Miller Kicks Off Fifth Year September 19

SALT LAKE CITY – Million Miles at Miller, a charity bike ride benefiting Make-A-Wish Utah and Larry H. Miller Charities, presented by Mountain America Credit Union, will celebrate five years of fundraising on September 19, 2015. This year’s ride, which starts and ends at Megaplex Theatres at The District in South Jordan, will feature a 13-mile fun ride, fully supported 25, 50 and 100-mile ride options, as well as a kids zone and vendor fair from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

“Each year, we’ve had the opportunity to support a deserving local nonprofit organization, and this year is no different. Make-A-Wish Utah grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions and Larry H. Miller Charities provides funding to organizations that support women and children’s issues with a focus on health and education,” said Jay Francis, executive vice president, Miller Family Philanthropy.

All this week, the water fountain in front of Megaplex Theatres at The District in South Jordan will be wrapped in Make-a-Wish signage and branded the Make-A-Wish Wishing Well, with all change thrown into the fountain during that time period donated to Make-A-Wish Utah.

“We are excited for this year’s Million Miles at Miller charity ride,” said Jared Perry, Make-A-Wish Utah’s CEO. “We are grateful for the support of the Larry H. Miller Charities, the riders, volunteers, family members and all individuals who’ve helped this event take shape. This is who we are as a community, people coming together to make the wishes of our Utah children a reality.”

All riders who reach a $100 minimum fundraising level will receive a Million Miles at Miller cycling jersey; access to a delicious post-ride barbeque; tickets to a Utah Jazz game; tickets to a Salt Lake Bees game; and free popcorn from Megaplex Theatres.

“We are pleased to partner with Million Miles at Miller as this year’s presenting sponsor,” said Marshall Paepke, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Mountain America Credit Union. “Our philosophy of ‘people helping people’ is one of the main reasons we are involved. This belief fuels our commitment to support those in our community who need assistance, such as the families who benefit from the impactful work of Make-A-Wish Utah and Larry H. Miller Charities.”

The ride begins at 8 a.m. For more information on the ride and to register, please visit: www.millionmilesatmiller.com.
