Pro Supercross Racer Landen Powell Returns to Action This Week

After missing three races due to injury, professional Supercross racer Landen Powell of South Jordan, Utah, returns to action in the Monster Energy Supercross Championship this weekend when the series stops in Houston, Texas. Powell, 23, competed in the first three rounds of the 2015 championship in the 250SX West class, at Anaheim, Calif., on January 3, Phoenix, Ariz., on January 10 and again in Anaheim on January 17, scoring championship points in the latter two events with a best result of 15th in the second Anaheim race. However, a testing accident prior to Round 4 in Oakland, Calif., resulted in broken ribs and sidelined Powell for the next three events. Having healed from his injuries, Powell, whose No. 85 KTM 250 SX-F is sponsored by Miller Motorsports Park and Sportsmen For Warriors (SFW), has been out testing and is anxious to get back on track for the final three rounds of the championship. “I am really excited to be back racing this week in Houston,” said Powell. “I am feeling great on the bike, and I am ready to finish out the season strong. Thanks to everyone who has stuck behind me through the injury and I look forward to continuing our great program with Sportsman For Warriors and Miller Motorsports Park.” The resumption of Powell’s racing season also means the resumption of his unique sponsorship program with SFW, a charitable organization that honors active-duty military, veterans, police, fire, EMS and their families by promoting healing and family connections through quality outdoor activities and individualized support. SFW honors the tremendous sacrifices made by Warriors and their family members by providing support and world-renowned outdoor activities with proven therapeutic values, which promotes healing and strengthens family and community relationships and values. At each remaining round of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship, SFW will select one Warrior to serve as Powell’s on-track mechanic. The selectee’s family will also be part of Powell’s crew and sit in rider seating to watch the action. The Houston round of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship will take place this Saturday, April 11, and will be televised live at 6:00 p.m. MDT on the Fox Sports 2 network.
