Smith’s Ballpark has been recognized as a top Minor League ballpark by Baseball America. The home of the Bees ranked 20th out of more than 150 Minor League stadiums in the magazine’s survey of Minor League general managers, radio announcers and league observers. The article quoted one reviewer as saying that Smith’s Ballpark is “simply the best backdrop in baseball. Pittsburgh has the gorgeous skyline, San Fran has the bay, Salt Lake has the snow-capped Wasatch Mountains.” This is the second honor for Smith’s Ballpark this year. The May issue of Better Homes and Gardens placed the balllpark eighth on its 10 Best Ballparks list alongside Major League stadiums like Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. The Bees return home to Smith’s Ballpark on Thursday, May 21 for an eight-game homestand against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and Oklahoma City Dodgers. Promotions during the homestand include fireworks on May 22 and Military Appreciation Night and fireworks on May 23.
