The Zone Hits College Football Coverage Hard

SALT LAKE CITY (August 11, 2015) – The Zone Sports Network is providing extensive local college football programming as the 2015 season begins, including the fourth season of “Football Fridays” with former head coaches LaVell Edwards of BYU and Ron McBride of Utah and Weber State. The show will air on Fridays from 1-3 p.m. starting August 28 with Hans Olsen and Scott Garrard as co-hosts.

The Zone Sports Network is heard on 1280 The Zone (KZNS-AM) and 97.5 (KZNS-FM).

When the college football season starts in early September, Brandon Doman, the former BYU quarterback and offensive coordinator, joins the weekday “Mornings with DJ & PK” show with David James and Patrick Kinahan on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m.

BYU and Utah will each have weekly preview shows. Doman, Olsen and Garrard will co-host the Cougar Preview Show on Wednesdays starting Sept. 2 from 1-3 p.m. Former Utah defensive end Christian Cox, who played on the 2008 Ute Sugar Bowl team and with the New England Patriots, joins Olsen and Garrard for the Ute Preview Show on Thursdays starting Sept. 3 from 1-3 p.m.

The Zone’s coverage of each college football program in the state features pre- and post-game shows for every BYU and Utah football game. Two hours before kickoff of every game, Olsen will anchor pre-game coverage with former players from the respective teams. For all home games, The Zone Tailgate Party will be located on Guardsman Way near Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and at DP Cheesesteaks in Provo.

All Utah State University games will be broadcast live on 1280 The Zone, including games against in-state rivals BYU and Utah as well as Mountain West Conference games. The Zone will originate an Aggie pre-game show prior to each game broadcast.

“There is great anticipation for the upcoming college football season in Utah,” said Randy Rodgers, The Zone Sports Network general manager. “The Zone will give its listeners tremendous insights and analysis as it gears up each week for the big games. Utes, Cougars and Aggies – we’ve got them all covered with daily conversations on college football.”
