Volunteers of America, Utah is proud to announce Recovery on Redwood. This transformative new facility will add 50 beds for detoxification, provide counseling for 981 additional community members and care for an estimated 6,954 Utahns per year. This new building is located in the Glendale neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

VOA Utah is grateful to have received a generous contribution of $1 million from The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation. This significant gift is pivotal in funding the critical services at our new facility, Recovery on Redwood, a $19.9 million project. Additionally, Recovery on Redwood has secured $1.5 million each from the State of Utah and the Utah Impact Partnership, and other private and public funding totaling over $14 million. VOA Utah is now asking the community to help raise the remaining $5.9 million needed to complete the project.

“We are deeply grateful for the remarkable generosity demonstrated by the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation,” stated Kathy Bray, CEO of VOA Utah. “Their unwavering support empowers our efforts to provide vital services and inspires others to join us in creating a brighter future for those facing addiction and mental health challenges.”

VOA Utah’s Recovery on Redwood consolidates four program locations into this new building to streamline care and provide easier access for Utah’s most vulnerable populations. The 75,000-square-foot building includes expanded detoxification and addiction recovery services, outpatient counseling and mental health interventions, VOA’s Homeless Outreach Program, and administration offices. It will also provide opportunities for hundreds of Utahns who want to give back by serving meals to clients, dropping off essential needs items, and sorting donations.

“VOA Utah provides essential programs for our community,” said Gail Miller, chair of the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation. “We are proud to support Recovery on Redwood and trust these funds will positively impact those seeking mental health and addiction support.”
