Aida Neimarlija is general counsel for Larry H. Miller Dealerships. She provides strategic legal advice and guidance to the group’s 60-plus dealerships across seven states, Total Care Auto Powered by Landcar, and Saxton Horne Communications. Aida also litigates cases and oversees the compliance, risk management, and customer service departments.
Prior to joining LHM, Aida served as external counsel for Larry H. Miller Dealerships for almost a decade. She gained significant complex commercial and catastrophic injury litigation and trial experience as partner at Burbidge Mitchell & Gross. Her work also included employment law, corporate governance, and a wide range of automotive industry related issues and disputes. At the outset of her legal career, Aida practiced at international litigation firm Howrey LLP, where she worked on matters such as securities litigation, accountant’s liability defense, copyright infringement litigation, and contract disputes. While in law school, Aida interned with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and was part of the prosecution team at the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Aida has extensive professional and community involvement. She helped develop the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion as executive director, where she worked closely with judges and Utah State Bar representatives and community leaders to assist courts and legal employers with their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. She currently chairs the Governor’s Utah Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Nominating Commission and is on the board for the Salt Lake County Bar Organization and the Federal Bar Association. She is a past president of the Women Lawyers of Utah.
Aida graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah, where she also received her Bachelor of Arts in political science and Bachelor of Science in economics with an international relations certificate. She is a recipient of awards such as the Utah State Bar’s Young Lawyer of the Year and University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law Young Alumna of the Year awards. She has also been selected to Mountain States Super Lawyers as a Rising Star honoree since 2012.
Aida is fluent in Bosnian (Serbo-Croatian), Norwegian, and German. Her biggest passions include spending time with her family, mentoring students and young attorneys, and traveling the globe.
